It is time for another wonderful challenge from Sentimental Sundays! This week's challenge (#7) is to create a card with a 'Summertime' theme that uses a quote/sentiment in some way. As soon as I saw the challenge I knew I had to use some of my new stamps from DRS Designs.
After cutting out a piece of white cardstock using the Top Note Die I stamped the Brush Lawn Mower (K866) on the bottom portion. The rest of the grass area was then filled in using the Easy Grass Background (E059). The image was then colored in using COPIC markers. It is hard to tell from the picture, but I did add some blue sky to the top of the image mat.
The red cardstock mat was embossed using Cuttlebug's Swiss Dots folder (man, I love this folder). Before adding everything to the card front I stamped the sentiment, Broken Mower Greeting (G863), onto a vellum strip, then wrapped it around the two pieces. It was an easy way to add the sentiment so you could read it, as well as see the lawnmower beneath it.
