U R My Star Scrapling

For this week's DRS Designs creation I decided to make a patriotic scrapling. These little cards are the leftovers when you cut a traditional 5.5" x 4.25" card into a square card. They make cute gift tags, lunch box notes, bookmarks, etc.

I stamped the Colonial Star (H990) from DRS Designs in sepia ink onto kraft cardstock, then sponged the same ink over the image for a distressed look. The red cardstock on the bottom was embossed with the Star Cuttlebug embosssing folder and then I highlighted the raised part by running the ink pad over the top a few times.

For the sentiment I cut out each letter of the printed text, inked the edges, then adhered them to the back of the cut out star. After placing the 'U R My Star' focal piece onto the card with foam dots, I added some red, white and blue gems.

Don't forget June is DRS Designs' Stamp A Day Giveaway month!!!!! Each day in June, one lucky commenter on the DRS Designs blog will win a DRS Designs stamp. Make sure to visit this link for more details and head over there each day to enter.

Challenges used for this card:
