Card Patterns Sketch 79 and DRS Designs

Did you know that DRS Designs is sponsoring the new Card Patterns Sketch?! Today I am going to share a card with you using that sketch (#79) and one of the new Christmas images from DRS Designs! If you play along this week you will be entered to win a $10 voucher to the DRS Designs Online Store!

Don't these two look like the best of friends?! That is why I thought the Friends Make Season Special Greeting (F300) would go perfectly with the new Wintertime Buddies (M362) image. I started my card by embossing snowflakes on the card base. Once the image was colored and embellished I matted it on the green cardstock, using Dimensionals, then placed it on the card base. For the sentiment, instead of using flowers as the sketch suggests, I cut it into pieces and placed them to the left of the image.

For the final touches I used some glitter on the snowman and Santa's belth, then some liquid applique on Santa's suit and hat. This is the first time I have used the applique correctly.. I didn't realize before you had to heat set it after it dries.. oops. :)
