It is time for another Whimsie Wednesday challenge on the Whimsie Doodles blog. This week, for Whimsie Wednesday #58 (WWC58), Sheri has challenged us to create a project with a 'Let It Snow' theme. For my project I have used the new Snowfolk Picnic digital image from Whimsie Doodles.
To start out my card, and to keep with the theme, I stamped snowflakes in white onto a kraft cardstock base. I used the same white to ink the outer edges of the card. While the ink was drying on the card base I colored the Snowfolk image in with COPIC markers and added some glitter along the snowline at the bottom. A few tiny buttons were added on each of the snowpeople's coats for a little extra dimension.
Next I created the layered strip across the center of the card. I started by embossing some red cardstock with the Polka Dots embossing folder, then I used the white ink on the edges and raised areas for some definition. A strip of lace (thanks Barbara) was added on to the of the red and then I placed a strip of brown scalloped cardstock across that to 'hide' the top edge of the lace. To help hold it all together I sewed it to the card base. After everything was attached to the card I finished it off by placing some red gems in the centers of the snowflakes.
