Spring is Coming - Woodware USA Challenge 18

This week's challenge (WWUSAC18) at the Woodware USA blog is "Spring is Coming". We are inviting you to create a project that makes you think of Spring. Growing up I was always told that the robins showing up was one of the first signs that Spring was coming. I decided to use one of the birds from Patch A House and color it to look like the red-breasted robin.

The little bird sits atop a Thinking of You sentiment from Special Wishes, that has been surrounded by brackets. I made these by snipping off the middle of a die-cut bookplate. I used my sewing machine on the border strip at the bottom.

Make sure to check out what the other Woodware USA DT members are creating and get the details on the challenge HERE.

Just the details… (1) Before cutting the bookplate I embossed the red cardstock with polka dots, (2) colored the stamped bird image to resemble an American Robin, (3) used the polka dots embossing folder on the red border strip and stitched it on with some brown thread.

Challenges used for this card:

I love that you made a robin- you don't see that much in cardmaking! I love the boldness of the red on kraft, too!
