Sp-Egg-Tacular Day Paperweight - Whimsie Doodles

The other day when I was browsing at Dollar Tree for items to alter/craft with, I stumbled upon some paperweights. Originally there was a picture of a butterfly adhered to the back, but it was almost too easy to remove. I picked up a few thinking they would be great to add pictures to, but guess what, they are also great to add stamped images too as well!!

I started by using the original backing as a template, then stamped Whimsie Doodles' Easter Basket rubber stamp onto the white cardstock base. After coloring in the basket with COPIC markers I adhered it to the back of the paperweight using the same 'sticky sheet' that came with it. For a finishing touch I stamped the SpEGGtacular sentiment onto the front of the glass with StazOn, then added pink gems to either end of the sentiment.
Just the details… (1) Added a sentiment and gems to the front of the paperweight, (2) placing details on the front and back of the paperweight added some extra dimension to the project.

And now a SPECIAL OFFER for fans and readers of my blog: Use the coupon code below (ALICIA10), the next time you shop at the Whimsie Doodles Online Store and receive 10% OFF your order!

Thanks for stopping by and, as always, comments are greatly appreciated!

Rubber Stamps: Whimsie Doodles (Easter Basket, SpEGGtacular); Cardstock: Neenah (Solar White); Inks: Memento (Tuxedo Black), StazOn (Jet Black); Markers: COPIC; Other: Dollar Tree (paperweight), Unknown (Gems)
